About the VFR
The Veterans Freedom Retreat is a free, week-long retreat for veterans and their partners where you will begin your journey to being free from the stress of past traumas. It also includes free follow-on counseling. The retreat employs a holistic approach which treats body, mind, heart and soul.
History:
The Veterans Freedom Retreat is patterned after the remarkably successful program developed by Col. Chuck Howe in 2009 at the National Veterans Wellness and Healing Center in Angel Fire, New Mexico. To date they have successfully conducted over 35 retreats. They have honed their program to reduce the symptoms of PTSD 30-67%. Our Veterans Freedom Retreat uses the same concepts and structure as does theirs. Our retreats reduce the overall symptoms of PTSD by an average of 50%.
